About pit Crews
Pit crews are assigned value in tires by FanRacing Central, based on a crew’s performance on the track each week. This means that every week a pit crew’s value could go up, down or remain the same. The first race of the season is based on the prior year’s pit crew standings. After each subsequent race of the season, the pit crews’ values are posted.

Each week owners have the opportunity to fine tune their pit crews, change strategies and select any pit crew based upon their performance on any individual given racetrack. There is no risk of being permanently handicapped by a poor performing pit crew because, as with drivers, there are neither trade fees nor trade restrictions. An owner needs only to stay within the allotment of tires.

A car’s number, driver’s name or crew chief's name is used to identify each individual pit crew. In order to discover statistics, profiles or value of a particular pit crew, an owner merely needs to enter the identifying information.

You can click on Complete Pit Crew List for a comprehensive list of car numbers, crew chiefs’ names, drivers’ names and values. This list is very helpful in forming the pit crew portion of an owner’s team every week. The screen is split between the pit crew list and an owner’s My Team page. Simply by clicking on the car number, crew chiefs’ names or driver's name, that pit crew is added automatically to the owner’s My Team page. A pit crew may be removed from an owner's team by clicking an edit button.

All calculations will occur automatically when selecting or unselecting the pit crews. A sum total of pit crew’s values are displayed as the owner makes selections, simultaneously subtracting those values from the allotment of tires. When the eighth and final pit crew is left to be chosen, the crews left in green are available for selection. The pit crews that an owner may exchange in gallons of gasoline for tires appears in yellow, (see About Exchange Rate & Limits). The pit crews that are no longer available for selection appear in red. This will prevent an owner from exceeding the overall limit (see About Exchange Rate & Limits).

If selection of a particular pit crew exceeds a team owner’s tire allotment, simply by clicking on that crew chief's name an exchange rate in number of gallons of gasoline to tires will be displayed on the screen. By pressing an exchange button the necessary calculations will be made and the exchange will take place.
